Desni, Reception @ TAH Darling
I love being outdoors, 4x4ing and I love being around animals. When I’m feeling a little down and I go home There are 3 little friendly canine faces waiting to welcome me. Birds tend to not like me, my mom has a Conure and all it wants to do when it sees me is bite me. I try to live each day like its my last, because you never know what the future might hold. I love being around little kids (they are the only ones who tell the truth) :). I grew up on a farm and started learning to ride a horse at the age of three ( yea I know that sounds a little young, but its the truth) My dad thought once you can walk properly and you are ready, you can accomplish the world. He taught me most of what I know today. He is the reason I studied agriculture, he got me to love nature and everything that it has to offer.
“When the going gets tough the though get going” and “Never Let the Fear of striking out keep you from playing the game” these are the motto’s I live my life by.
Cathy, Reception @ Kenridge
Hi, I am Ebony and this is my human, Cathy Kilfoil. She is married to another human, Jimmy and they have two grown-up human children, Michelle and Matthew. Cathy loves all animals, especially horses. She has other animal friends at her home. Trinket and Tango are her two dogs and she also has an old Siamese cat, Sebastian. Unfortunately she does not live on the same farm that I do, but I know that if she did, she would kiss me goodnight every night. Cathy works at the Kenridge practice.

Marelize, Nurse @ Bellville
I am a veterinary nurse that started working at TAH Bellville in November 2015. My career started in the wildlife industry after completing my studies in Game Ranch Management. I started working on Game farms in Limpopo Province as well as doing Cheetah research on a well-known breeding farm, Thaba Tholo. I realized I wanted to work hands on with animals and went to study veterinary nursing at Onderstepoort and qualified in 2011. I started working at a veterinary practice called Rand en Dal Animal Hospital in Krugersdorp as the only nurse working alongside 7 vets. I was mainly in charge of running the hospital and assist where necessary.
In 2014 my husband and I moved to Port Elizabeth where my baby girl was born in January 2015. My husband and I recently relocated to Cape Town and I am blessed to join TAH Bellville as a veterinary nurse and I am looking forward to my future here.
This is me in a nutshell. I am the quiet, reserved type, but full of energy. I always had an unconditional love for animals, I was the one that told everybody I will become a Vet someday. My love for my career started the day that I walked into a vet shop and knowing this is what I want to do the rest of my life. I worked in a vet shop for 2 years in Middelburg, Mpumalanga. My hobbies include baking, drawing, listening to music and learning something new every day. I love a challenge, I will always give it my best.
